The abused, abandoned and neglected are all around us.

According to the National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect:

Nationwide, over 2 million children are reported abused and neglected yearly:
Of these, 100,000-200,000 are physically abused. 60,000-100,000 are sexually abused. The remainder are neglected.

Battered & forgotten, 8 yr. old Jimmy was cast aside in a hostile world just as his life was beginning...

His weakened frame painfully bruised by a baseball bat..his spirit crushed by constant words of hatred...little Jimmy's wounds may never heal. Extreme as his story may seem, Jimmy's case is tragically commonplace. Over 2 million children are abused every year. The average age of an abused child is 5 years old!

1 out of 3 women and 1 out of 6 men experienced abuse, molestation or neglect as a child.

90% of physical abuse and neglect cases involve the caretakers of the children.

At a critical time in their young lives, when they long to be held, cuddled and nurtured, they are instead being confronted with violent acts of anger...appalling sexual & emotional abuse at the hands of those they trust and love. Affection is traded for affliction.

In 85% of the reported cases, the perpetrators of sexual abuse are
well-known to the child.

Two out of every three prisoners convicted of first degree murder report previous childhoods of physical abuse.

97% of hard-core juvenile delinquents have experienced a history of severe physical punishment and assault in the home.

80% of all prostitutes report histories of sexual abuse as children.

Over 200 children reside in Foster Care in Whatcom County alone.

With Concern...Royal Family Kids Camp recognizes the overwhelming need & can make a difference one child at a time. With a heart of compassion we want to positively impact the lives of these abused & neglected children in our community.

A seemingly endless cycle of agony continues as children are abused by those who were abused themselves. Emotionally, children are shattered. Physically, they are broken.

Their childlike innocence comes to a horrible, premature end...they are forced to search elsewhere for love.
